LEAYSA Print E-mail

CrossRidge Loves Little ElmOn March 26, we were able to bless Little Elm Area Youth Sports Association, LEAYSA, at Cottonwood Park on Lobo Lane. March 26 was their opening day for the softball and baseball seasons. This turned out to be the biggest opening day LEAYSA had ever had which gave us an even bigger opportunity to step up and serve others in our community. LEAYSA had also dedicated the day to Caleb Huffines, a 5 year old Little Elm boy who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Not only were we able to be a blessing to LEAYSA, we were also able to bless the Huffines family as well.

Dollar Day Concession Stand

We blessed LEAYSA in multiple ways including being able to staff the concessions stand. Usually, LEAYSA board members and parents of children playing have to volunteer at the concession stand. We blessed and served them by filling in for them during this time which allowed parents and other LEAYSA board members and volunteers to watch the games their children were playing in. Our team of volunteers did an awesome job serving LEAYSA and selling just about everything the concession stand was stocked with.

Dollar Day BalloonsWith the money we collected for Dollar Days on March 6, we bought balloons, helium, and ribbons. We used these to love on and bless all of the kids who came to the park. We had over 1500 balloons and from the start of the day till about 2:00 pm we gave out as many as we could until we ran out of helium. Our balloons had a custom message which simply read "CROSSRIDGE LOVES LITTLE ELM".

It took many volunteers to inflate, tie, and give out those balloons. A big thank you goes out to all of the volunteers for their great work and dedication.

Dollar Day Balloons

Along with the concessions team and balloon team we also had prayer walking teams and trash/clean up teams. Our prayer teams walked around the park praying for the people there; praying for the kids playing, praying for the parents, praying for the volunteers, and praying for the community. Our clean up teams also did an amazing job by keeping the trash cans empty and picking up trash around the park.

Dollar Day Servants

At the begginning of the day, it was apparent parking was going to be an issue at the park. An impromtu team came about which helped many people find a place to park.

It was a great day to serve and many people were blessed. Thank you to all who came out to make it such a success. We received many replies and comments from many people on how blessed they were. Members of LEAYSA even said if it wasn't for our church, they don't know how they would have got everything done.
