CrossRidge Church launched a brand new ministry on November 3rd. It is a ministry to help love, support, and CARE for vulnerable or orphaned children and the families that they deserve. In the Metroplex, there is a growing need to care for the orphaned and vulnerable children. Last year in Denton County alone there were 271 children that were rescued and placed in Foster care. Of those children, 19 were from the 75068 zip code. 75% of those children who were rescued had to be placed out of Denton County in large part due to the fact that there was not enough families ready to take them in. As of June 2013, 99 children were waiting to be adopted, 6 of those are from the 75068 zip code.

With approximately 890 churches in Denton County alone, why can’t these kids find a home? CrossRidge Care Ministry seeks to fulfill James 1:27, which commissions the Church to take care of the fatherless. Foster care or adoption is not about increasing the size of a family or doing a good deed. It’s about helping a child desperately needing love and direction. “Your family may not need another child, but there’s a hurting child that needs your family.”

It is a ministry that everyone in our church can be a part of. You may not be able to take a child into your home, but you may be able to support those who do. From providing meals, donating clothes or needed items to being a qualified babysitter or respite provider. Everyone has a place. If you have been praying about the possibility of becoming a Foster Family or going through the process of adoption, we want to help you and walk along side of you and connect you to the people that will help you to CARE for these children. These children need to know the love and CARE that only Jesus can provide and we want to give it to them.

So here are the jumping in spots:

We would like to provide a few meals for foster/adopt families when they receive a new placement to help with the initial adjustment period. If you would be willing to be one of the one who provide meals to families, email us at to be placed on the list of proividers.

When a child is placed in the care of a foster family, many times the only thing that child comes with is the clothes on their back. Foster/adopt families often have many needs when they receive a child. If you have items that you would like to donate, email us at to arrange a drop off time. For a list of needed items, click here.

Foster/adopt families need certified care providers to watch over their children, in time when they need to be away. For more information on how to provide this service to our foster/adopt families email us at and we will contact with the steps you will need to take to become a certified babysitter, short-term or respite care provider.
